Community Garden

At EPCC Youth, we are committed to serving our community in every way we can. Our community garden is one way we are doing this. The garden brings together people of all ages to grow healthy vegetables and learn about gardening. There is no better way to serve our community than to help people connect over something so fundamental and elemental as gardening. We welcome you to join us at our community garden events and become a part of making our community a better place.

Did you know that in 2022, 10.5% of households in the US faced food insecurity? That's approximately 39 households within our community of Elk Park alone. At EPCC, we believe that one household experiencing food insecurity is one too many.

Our community garden is located across the street from the church. We encourage every member of our community to help make this garden successful. Let's build community while serving one another in kindness and love.

Together, we can make a difference and ensure that everyone in our community has access to the food they need to thrive. Join us in this important mission today!

What is Elk Park Christian Church's Community Garden?

Elk Park Christian Church's Community Garden is a vibrant ministry aimed at fostering community engagement and unity among neighbors. Located on the church premises, this garden serves as a welcoming space for individuals of all backgrounds to come together, bond, and cultivate a shared harvest.

At the heart of this initiative is the belief that gardening can serve as a powerful tool for building connections and strengthening relationships within the community. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, everyone is invited to participate in caring for and maintaining the garden.

One of the unique aspects of the Community Garden is its open-access policy. Here, individuals are encouraged to take what they need as the fruits and vegetables ripen, ensuring that fresh, nutritious produce is readily available to all members of the community.

Through the act of gardening together, neighbors have the opportunity to not only nurture the earth but also nurture relationships with one another. As they work side by side, planting, watering, and harvesting, they form bonds that transcend differences and unite them in a common purpose.

Ultimately, Elk Park Christian Church's Community Garden is more than just a plot of land—it's a symbol of community solidarity and a testament to the power of coming together to sow seeds of kindness, compassion, and abundance.
